I’m happy to report that the NY Comic Con, held on Feb. 23-25 was a great success! I spent most of the time helping promote my new book, Heretic, at the Markosia booth. Of all the books Markosia brought, Heretic was one of the best sellers. I was able to meet and talk with a lot of people, and the response to Heretic was overwhelmingly positive. Whenever I called someone over to check out the book at the booth, they almost always ended up picking it up. The writer on the book, Chuck Satterlee, was also in attendance, so we were able to sign copies and fill people in on plans for future issues.
One of my biggest thrills of the con was meeting Jim Steranko. He’s been a big influence on Heretic. Whenever I start feeling burned out creatively, I like to go back to his work on the adaptation of “Outland” in Heavy Metal magazine for inspiration. If you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend doing a little Googling…a few people have the entire book uploaded for easy viewing.
